Smartwatches have been around for years, but brands such as Apple, Google, Samsung, and Fitbit are subject to significant changes towards 2022. Apple watch While Google may release the first consumer smartwatch, it is designed for extreme sports. Fitbit, Owned by google, May introduce the first smartwatch with Google software instead of its own software. That’s when the rumors and reports that have come up so far turn out to be true.
According to the 2020 Pew Research Report, one in five Americans use smartwatches or fitness trackers, but Counterpoint Research data show that the smartwatch industry grew 24% year-on-year in 2021. .. See companies like Apple, Google, and Samsung pushing their wearable tech ambitions further this year.
Take a look at the most interesting rumored smartwatches we want to see this year.

Apple Watch Explorer Edition
According to Bloomberg, Apple may add a new rugged addition to its lineup of smartwatches, known as the Explorer Edition, this year. The report states that this will be a more robust version of the Apple Watch for people engaged in outdoor activities and extreme sports. It’s expected to have the same features as Apple’s regular smartwatch, but with enhanced shock protection similar to Casio’s G-Shock watch.
The watch is reportedly sometimes referred to within Apple as the “Explorer Edition,” but it’s unclear if the product will be referred to by that name. Bloomberg previously stated that the new rugged Apple Watch could arrive in 2022, so you might see it at Apple’s annual fall product event. Apple has already taken a step in this direction Apple Watch Series 7 The front crystal is more durable.
I’m not the target audience for watches like this, but I’m looking forward to seeing how Apple perceives a rugged smartwatch. Apple has the opportunity to reach more than extreme athletes with a more durable smartwatch. The rugged Apple Watch is also ideal for physically demanding professions such as construction workers, brick masons, landscape architects and machinists.

The Apple Watch Series 7 has debuted a slightly larger Apple Watch screen over the last few years.

Apple Watch Series 8
There is also Apple Watch Series 8, This is expected to debut this fall in typical Apple fashion. According to Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal, the biggest upgrade is likely to be the addition of a temperature sensor. Thermometers may be designed to assist wearers in planning fertility, reports Journal and Bloomberg show. Adding the ability to measure temperature will also help Apple catch up with Oura and other wellness trackers in Fitbit in this regard.
However, Apple’s more important health tracking updates (such as glucose and blood pressure monitoring) are reportedly expected to be years away. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple’s blood pressure monitoring technology is likely not ready for the Apple Watch until 2024 at the earliest, and Apple hasn’t even assigned a target launch window for blood readings. As a result, Series 8 could be another phased upgrade with improved processing and design.
Still, if any, I’m looking forward to learning how Apple can incorporate temperature sensing into the Apple Watch’s suite of health features. If not, I would like to see metrics focused on longer battery life, more detailed sleep tracking, and recovery from training. On the next Apple Watch..

Apple Watch SE will debut in 2020 and may get updates in 2022.

Apple Watch SE 2
The rumored Apple Watch Series 8 is likely to get a lot of attention this fall, but I’m personally more excited about the next generation. Apple Watch SE.. The main difference between Apple’s flagship watch and SE is usually related to advanced health tracking features such as blood oxygen saturation and the ability to obtain ECG. However, the Apple Watch SE offers most of the most important features of the Apple Watch at a price $ 120 cheaper than the Series 7, so it feels like the right model for most people. These features include activity tracking, fall detection, irregular heart rate notifications, Apple Pay support, and iPhone notifications.
Apple hasn’t released a new Apple Watch SE since 2020, so we’re looking forward to seeing updates this year. I’m not sure what to expect for the next Apple Watch SE, but according to a June 2021 Bloomberg report, a new version may appear later this year. Based on Apple’s previous releases, new processors, some design tweaks, and new color options seem like plausible additions. But this is just a guess based on Apple’s previous launch.
The low price of the SE means that its features are more limited than Apple’s next flagship watch. Except for the lack of the health features mentioned above, the current SE has a smaller screen than the Series 7, no always-on display, and isn’t charging fast.
If Apple brings any of these features to the next-generation SE, we want it to be a always-on display. By allowing the screen to turn on even when the watch is idle, the Apple Watch becomes much more convenient as a watch. This is one of the few features I miss in everyday use when switching between Apple’s high-end watches and SEs. Apple was able to distinguish between Series 8 and SE with a wide selection of health features and a larger screen.Since then Apple could soon discontinue the $ 199 Apple Watch Series 3The new SE will conclude Apple’s lineup with new budget-friendly options.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
Samsung Galaxy Watch is one of the best smartwatches available to Android device owners, and rumors suggest something new Galaxy Watch 5 May come this year.Round screen and Google’s Wear OS software Galaxy Watch 4, But it has a larger battery and temperature sensor. This is due to rumors from the blog Sam Mobile and South Korean outlet ET News, which claim to have found the device’s battery in regulatory filings.
These rumored upgrades suggest that Galaxy Watch 5 may be an improved version of Watch 4 rather than a dramatic upgrade. But given that the Galaxy Watch 4 is already doing a lot right, from its smooth performance and vibrant screens to a variety of health features, that’s fine for me.
One of CNET’s biggest criticisms is watch battery life, and the Galaxy Watch 5 seems to address this shortcoming. However, the bigger update we’re expecting is tight integration with Google’s apps and services. With these changes, the Galaxy Watch 5 may be able to deliver a more seamless Android experience, rather than feeling like it’s split between the Google and Samsung ecosystems.

Google Pixel Watch
Google I own a Fitbit I’m writing software for an Android smartwatch, but I don’t have my own smartwatch. It’s all likely to change this year, as Google expects Released the first consumer smartwatchAccording to reports from Insider and YouTuber Jon Prosser.
There are few details about the watch, but Prosser shared allegedly leaked marketing material that could be a round design. Given that other Wear OS watches are also round, it’s not too surprising. An old report from the German blog WinFuture also suggests that there may be three different versions of PixelWatch. According to insiders, you can also expect heart rate monitoring and basic health tracking capabilities.
At a higher level, I want a Google smartwatch Get pages from Pixel smartphones.. Google makes mobile devices stand out by offering great software features specifically for Pixel smartphones or by incorporating them into Pixel devices before migrating to other Android devices. Google has the opportunity to do the same with smartwatches and may create a blueprint for what the Android smartwatch experience should be.

Fitbit Wear OS Watch
Fitbit is working on a new premium smartwatch powered by Google and Samsung’s new Wear OS software, CNET’s Scott Stein. Report last year.. In addition to cellular connectivity and Google’s app, it may have high-end features that may even be an upgrade from the company’s most expensive watch, Fitbit Sense.
This will be a big step forward for Fitbit, which currently sells smartwatches running its own Fitbit OS software. I’ve always been grateful for Fitbit’s wide range of health features, detailed sleep tracking, and long battery life, but I’ve always felt that Fitbit’s software requires some work. The experience doesn’t feel as sophisticated as Apple or Samsung watch software, and there aren’t many apps. But that can all change with Wear OS.
Still, Fitbit may not have completely abandoned the Fitbit OS. According to 9to5Google, next-generation versions of Fitbit Versa and Fitbit Sense watches may be working, but not on Wear OS.
Only Apple, Samsung, and Fitbit really know the products in their pipelines. But whatever their plans, health monitoring will continue to be a major focus for the smartwatch industry as a whole. Today’s smartwatches can already track a variety of physical data points, from sleep time to resting heart rate to blood oxygen saturation.Experts believe it is important to have a better understanding of such data Where wearable devices go next..
