The new Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 features a brand new high resolution drive unit angled within each earcup to provide a more immersive sound stage. I was thrilled to see the new Px7S2 have a new active noise canceling system with an updated microphone set. My biggest complaint about the original Px7 was that the noise cancellation wasn’t as good as the competition.
Bowers & Wilkins has also streamlined the design, improved fit and upgraded materials including new memory foam earcups. The app is also refined with user-adjustable EQ and voice assistant support. The Bowers & Wilkins press release states:
Bowers & Wilkins PX7S2 and PX8 headphones
The Px7 S2 is built around a brand new acoustic platform designed to provide unmatched high resolution sound quality. At its core is a newly developed, custom-designed 40mm drive unit specially created for headphone listening requirements.
The driver provides ultra-fast response to faithfully reproduce every nuance of music, while keeping distortion very low for more accurate and high-resolution presentations. The drive unit is also carefully angled inside each earcup to ensure a certain distance from all points across the surface of each driver to the listener’s ears for a more natural and immersive sound. Generate a stage.
The Px7 S2 combines its high-performance drive unit configuration with Qualcomm’s aptXTM Adaptive Wireless Technology to automatically optimize wireless music transmission from compatible phones, tablets and computers.
Combined with the powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processing) developed by Bowers & Wilkins, you get outstanding 24-bit high-definition sound quality from the right streaming services. USB-C and 3.5mm cable connections are also supported, both cable types are included in the carry case included with the product.
Bowers & Wilkins engineers have worked tirelessly to improve the noise cancellation performance of the Px7S2. The Px7 S2 uses proprietary Bowers & Wilkins-optimized noise canceling technology to effectively shut out unwanted noise without compromising musicality.
Six upgraded high-performance microphones work together for best results. Two measure the output of each drive unit, two respond to ambient noise from the outside world, and two provide excellent speech intelligibility with enhanced noise suppression. Careful placement and anglement of these microphones will improve performance even in the noisiest environments.
The Px7 S2 also brings a new breakthrough in ease of use. This is the first headphones to work directly with the Bowers & Wilkins Music App. Use this app to pair your Px7 S2 to your mobile device, fine-tune your sound via an adjustable EQ, activate or deactivate noise-canceling transparency mode to capture the outside world more or less, and finally headphones. You can monitor the charge level of. .. In future upgrades, the Music app will add the ability to stream user-selected music directly from your mobile device to your Px7S2.
It also includes physical controls for each earcup, giving you complete control without the app. Users can also use the Px7 S2 to seamlessly launch Voice Assistant on the phone with the push of a button. The Px7 S2 has a 30-hour battery life and can be played all day and even longer on a single charge. A 15-minute fast charge can provide up to 7 hours of additional listening time.
The Px7 S2 is available in three elegant finishes, gray, blue and black, each with complementary details. The all-new construction and profile are carefully designed for comfortable and long-term listening, with a slimmer and lighter overall shape and a more luxurious earpad with improved memory foam to fully encapsulate your ears. Use it as a cushion for ultimate comfort even if you keep listening.
Excitingly, the all-new Px7 S2 is the first new headphone model released by Bowers & Wilkins in 2022. Later this year, the company will launch its new flagship model, the Px8, for $ 549. This unruly “reference level” wireless model brings Bowers & Wilkins headphones to a whole new level of premium design, luxurious materials and audio performance.
