Smartwatches continue to improve, and many of the latest models can play music, podcasts, and audiobooks without the help of a connected smartphone. This means you can easily misplace your smartphone for a morning jogging or an afternoon gym session.
However, you need a way to hear this audio. Here, as you can imagine, a pair of headphones comes in. It only takes a few minutes to connect the headphones to the smartwatch. Almost all pairs that support Bluetooth. need to do it.
If you previously set your AirPods pair to work on your iPhone (as easy as opening an AirPods case near your smartphone), it will work automatically on your Apple Watch connected to the same phone. Simply load the app you want to listen to on your wrist and press the play button.
You can also connect any pair of Bluetooth headphones to your Apple Watch from the smartwatch itself. First, check the instructions that came with your headphones (or run a quick web search) to find out how to put your headphones into pairing mode. Normally, you need to hold down a specific button.

Wear an OS device
The process of connecting headphones to a Wear OS smartwatch may vary slightly depending on the watch manufacturer, but it’s about the same across devices. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 process, but if you’re using a different Wear OS watch, you shouldn’t see much of a difference.
Requires Bluetooth headphones. You also need to be in pairing mode. All Fitbit Sense or Fitbit Versa smartwatches (except Fitbit Versa Lite) can pipe audio through Bluetooth headphones, but they can’t link to a Fitbit fitness tracker. The connection process depends on the watch you’re using, but it always starts with putting your headphones in pairing mode (the instructions are on the web or bundled with your headphones).
If you’re using an older Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Versa 1, or Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch, setting App.select bluetoothafter that Audio device Start searching for nearby devices. When Fitbit detects your headphones, select them from the list. When the headphones are linked, a checkmark will appear next to the headphones.
With the new Fitbit Versa 2 and Fitbit Versa 3 devices setting Select an app and then select Vibration and audio, bluetoothWhen Manage devices.. Then swipe up from the bottom of the screen to start searching for new devices. Again, the headphones will appear so you can select them. When you link to your watch, you’ll see a checkmark next to your name.
Your Fitbit smartwatch can play audio through the Spotify, Deezer, and Pandora apps and manage them from your connected smartphone. You can also add music and podcast files to your watch and play them from Fitbit’s own music app on your wrist. Download the Fitbit Connect app for Windows or macOS and follow the instructions.
Garmin makes a lot of smartwatches with different designs and interfaces, so we can’t cover all the variations here, but if you don’t cover a particular watch here, you’ll need it without much trouble. You should be able to find the settings. First, turn on the Bluetooth headphones and put them in pairing mode. Normally you press the button, but if you’re not sure, check the web (or headphone box) for instructions.

The way you load and listen to audio on your Garmin smartwatch also depends on your device, but it’s pretty easy on all devices.
