First of all: Starlet01 (Tribit model number TR-KH01) kids’ headphones provide much better sound than a $ 19 headset (with a microphone). Indeed, Sonics is comparable to many products that cost five times as much. Even better, Starlet 01 is very comfortable. Impressed color.
Tribit Starlet 01 design and feature set
About their color scheme: I claim to make the best sacrifice by wearing an off-pink headset around the house during the test. The company didn’t send me a more masculine mint green headset, but I became a soldier. (Neighbors laughed a lot.) And if you’re majoring in gender studies, don’t worry. I do not mind.
You need to know immediately that the Starlet01 is actually a headset with an in-line microphone (and dB switch) on the captive cable. This cable is tipped with a TRRS (tip / ring / ring / sleeve) connector so you can use the microphone output with a headset jack. This works fine on most mobile phones (that is, mobile phones with jacks), tablets, PCs, and similar hardware. However, without the TRRS-to-TRS (ie regular stereo chip / ring / sleeve) adapter, problems can occur.

However, the opposite cup has a 3.5mm auxiliary connector that can be used for regular stereo connections or multiple Starlet 01 daisy chain connections. You need to prepare a 3.5mm stereo cable. I spend only $ 19 in the first place, so I can afford to buy a good one. (Except if you want to laugh out loud at the expense of the children, make it longer.)
Sadly, using the auxiliary port loses the 94dB / 85dB switch / resistance of the captive cable that limits the output of the child listener’s headphones to 85db. Usually any curious kid will use it to monkey, so it’s a good idea to set it to 85dB and then tape it. However, do not tape the multifunction buttons as they are used for calls (answer, hang up), and play control (play / pause, and forward / reverse tracking).
Like the similarly inexpensive ThinkWrite UltraDurable Pro, the Starlet 01 uses a straight cable with a braided cable. However, unlike ThinkWrite’s products, this cable is not microphonic. In other words, the headphones will not be noisy when bumped or rubbed.
Tribit Starlet 01 performance
If you’ve heard Starlet 01 before checking ThinkWrite, you may have used a weak adjective for the latter. The ThinkWrite headphones sound very good, but the Starlet 01 sounds better. I’m sure it’s due, at least in part, to non-microphonic cables. It’s close, but it’s called Tribit’s favor because it doesn’t have microphonic artifacts.
For the details of “good sound”, there is a fair amount of bass and it’s tight, not floppy like some cheap cans. The midrange is fairly well defined and has a top end that doesn’t feel as insensitive as many cheap headsets suffer.

Tribit Starlet01 did not meet the standards of Marshall Major IV and Edifier Stax Spirits, but I could listen to it for an hour without any problems. Indeed, it turned out to be acoustically more pleasing than the headphones I heard from major audio interface vendors in podcasting packs. If I’m noisy, I’d like to do a little more definition and instrument separation in the midrange. But for $ 19? Seesh.
There is no wireless Bluetooth, so obviously there is no battery life. Rethink comfort for a moment: There is plenty of padding on both the earcups and the headband. Given the small size of the ears and skull, it’s a testament to how comfortable it is to wear. To make this possible, the foldable earcups had just enough extension.
Tribit Starlete01 doesn’t make any sound or feel cheap
The sound and comfort of the Starlet 01, even though it was designed to have a small head and ears, was absolutely amazing to me. Would they like to put the TRRS-to-TRS adapter in the box, is it $ 19? Buy these for heartbeat kids.
