Withings ScanWatch Horizon: A smartwatch that looks smart

Adrienne King Three-Hughes

Think about your smartwatch. Apple watchHowever, there are other players in the arena who have their own views on what a smartwatch should look like.

One of those companies is Withings. This is a company that has been manufacturing health and fitness gadgets such as smart scales, health monitors and fitness trackers for over 10 years.

The ScanWatch Horizon Is the company’s latest smartwatch and is really smart.

Not only is it technically smart, it’s as smart as a design that looks smart.

Featuring a 43mm diameter 316L stainless steel case, blue or green dial, rotating bezel and luminescent index, the ScanWatch Horizon is based on the iconic diver’s watch.

It’s big, but not bulky and heavy, and the watch itself weighs 72 grams / 2.5 ounces, excluding the strap.

It's big, but it's not bulky!

But the smartwatch is water resistant to 10 ATMs / 100 meters / 330 feet and features a flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, so it’s not just about how it looks.

This is Withings’ most durable smartwatch to date and arguably the most durable smartwatch I’ve ever worn.

Another great thing I like about the ScanWatch Horizon is that Withings includes a Fluoroelastomer sports band and a metal bracelet, as well as adding and removing links to the bracelet for a perfect fit. Being able to get all the tools you need to get it done.

The spare sports band feels good!

This is a really nice feeling.

Both bands are very well made and can be worn very comfortably for extended periods of time, even when swimming or exercising. Also, changing the band is easy and no tools are required.

Even the packaging feels special, and it is a good representation of ScanWatch Horizon without waste.

OK, so far I’ve just looked at the outside of the watch. Many smart things are happening inside ScanWatch Horizon.

Your smartwatch incorporates many smart features related to fitness and health.

There are optical heart rate monitors, on-demand ECG heart rate monitors that can detect conditions such as atrial fibrillation (AFib), and clinically validated medical-grade blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitors.

A 24-hour, 24/7 activity tracker that automatically tracks walking, cycling, running, swimming, sleep, distance, altitude (floor climbing), and calories burned, and an advanced sleep tracker that monitors your sleep cycle, sleep time, and wake-up. Combined with a really powerful tool on your wrist.

Information is displayed on a small but clear and easy-to-read circular PMOLED display embedded in the dial of the smartwatch, which displays information such as reminders and text messages along with health and fitness information. You can also.

The user operates the ScanWatch Horizon by pressing and rotating the crown of the watch. The interface is much more basic than something like the Apple Watch, and the ScanWatch Horizon can’t run apps, but the features built into the watch are very well thought out and available.

The battery life is amazing 30 days and charging is done using the included USB cable.

So what do you think of Withings ScanWatch Horizon?

You can get a lot of watches for $ 449. A smartwatch for those who want to combine the classic look and feel of a diver’s watch with the robustness of a stainless steel construction, bright dial, clicky bezel and thick bracelet to the modern health and fitness gadgets you’d expect. Not worth a look.

This is a very attractive design for me. I feel it’s at home in the office, gym, outdoors, swimming, and almost everywhere.

The choice of metal bracelets and fluoroelastomers is also great, giving owners more flexibility.

For me, ScanWatch Horizon It’s all there.

I really like that Withings includes the tools you need to lengthen and shorten your sports straps and metal bracelets. These are really nice and I don’t feel like Withings is cutting corners on this smartwatch.

ScanWatch Horizon requires a smartphone or tablet to install the Health Mate app and is compatible with iOS 14+ and Android 8.0+.

Withings ScanWatch Horizon comes with a 5-year warranty, so you can use it for a long time and with peace of mind.
